Not a lot of seating and the food took a bit to come out. However, the wait was worth it. Got the "getting figgy with it" sandwich and it was the perfect combination of sweet and salty. Also tried the "witches brew" drink which was seasonal. Oatmilk options available, homemade hazelnut sweet foam was delicious.
Yum yummy yum!!! I don't know what happened to the people who didn't enjoy their experience here but my husband and I had an excellent breakfast and coffees! We were in the area running errands and had just enough time for a quick breakfast date, and knew we wanted to be downtown. We picked the Rebel Hen for its more creative & upscale menu offerings, even though they have fewer choices. And we are so glad we did!! We each had a breakfast bowl and both were delicious and flavorful! My husband's potatoes were perfectly cooked and slightly crispy, and I opted to have mine over greens-- and no one blinked about the request, nor was I upcharged for the change. Extra bonus were the two perfectly crafted cappuccinos with just the perfect amount of foam (not too milky, we like them traditional) and a selection of 4-5 hot sauces on each table for those who like things hot. The interior, while small like a cozy cafe rather than a restaurant, is cute and clean with lots of live plants. We only live 20 minutes away so plan to come back, and bring the kids next time.
Service was such a friendly environment & scenery inside feels calming with the happy atmosphere. We got the Lincoln sunrise and peach pie to teas (10/10!!) with the yogurt bowl and taco doodle (100/10!!) would definitely recommend by yourself, a date , morning or afternoon snack.
Rebel Hen a small Family Owned spot popping out delicious eats and fresh coffee. Now I'm not a coffee lover but the food was delicious. Definitely think About getting that warmed muffin to add to your meal.
This place has such a great ambiance for a morning/afternoon hangout and is family friendly. The baristas are very friendly too. My family and I hung out for a while. It was a nice time hanging with the family and the kids had a blast playing with the toys.
A great little cafe. Went at lunch time, was able to order right away. I had the seasonal peach salad "Just Peachy" it was delicious down to the last bite. My friend had "Life's a Peach" sandwich & he said it was really good! Staff was friendly. Definitely recommend & will definitely be back!
Rebel Hen Cafe has been on my list of "Restaurants To Try" for a long time. I am not a morning person, so I have trouble catching the restaurant's regular hours, so I was thrilled to see the restaurant was a vendor at the McBean Park Pickleball Courts Grand Opening on 4/20/24. I got to the event near the 3 hour mark, but magically, Rebel Hen Cafe managed to keep its Breakfast Burritos warm, moist, and yummy. I think it's the best breakfast burrito I've had so far in the area! I have probably tried 5 other restaurants' breakfast burritos (Short Stuff Cafe, Tacos Exxpress, Taqueria Roberto, Taqueria Garibaldi, Roundhouse Deli in order of least to most liked). Good balance between protein and carbs. I had the choice between Bacon, Chorizo, or Veggie (peppers and mushrooms if I remember correctly). The saleswoman told me bacon was her favorite, so I tried that. The salsa was really good. I suspect it's homemade. Fresh with nicely diced veggies. I also tried the Cold Brew Coffee. I prefer Starbucks more, but I probably needed to upgrade with a flavored syrup and add cream. I am not much of a coffee drinker in general. I need to visit the actual restaurant one day to experience more of their food, their baked goods (cookies!), and a latte. However, so far, I am most impressed with the breakfast burrito.
Just an absolute gem of a cafe. Their food is next level. This morning I tried their "mother clucker" breakfast bagel sandwich and it was perfection. Savory, bacon, eggy perfection. I also highly recommend their avocado toast and any of their wonderful muffins. Customer service is so genuine and I love the small town feel of it. Nothing but positive things to say about the interactions I've had here and will keep coming back for the delicious coffee and yummy food!
